Description
A potato chip (North American English and Australian English; often just chip) or crisp (British and Irish English) is a thin slice of potato that has been deep fried, baked, or air fried until crunchy. They are commonly served as a snack, side dish, or appetizer. After returning the fries several times to have them slimmed down, the irritated chef eventually sliced the potatoes so thin; they could not be eaten with a fork when fried. Thus, by an act of trolling, the potato chip was born.
